![]() ![]() ![]() The adventures that occur are incredible and offer historically accurate facts. I do know that it seems like I gave too much away (and I may have…) however, that is just a set up for book one, and it doesn’t even begin to cover the depths of the introduction to this epic series. I am happy to generate interest in this wonderful series. Here is an excellent fan made trailer of book one. Jacky takes us through every range of emotion as we sail the pages of history. If she is caught on board they can kill her, throw her over board or leave her at some strange port, because women are bad luck on a ship. Thus, she sets out on her path towards becoming a salty-sea sailor, have high-sea adventures and travel the world! There is one problem. Big changes happen, so she decides to dress like a boy, take the name of Jacky, and heads to the docks where she is hired as a Ship’s Boy for Her Majesty’s Navy. When Mary is 12, she realizes that her options as a young woman without a family are terrible. Rooster Charlie’s gang takes her in and they live under Black Friar’s Bridge. Within the borders of their various territories, they beg, borrow and steal to survive. There weren’t orphanages yet, and all of London is split into territories for the orphan gangs. ![]() It’s the late 1700’s and little Mary Faber is only 5 when she becomes an orphan by a plague that also claims her baby sister. My top favorites are books 3, 4, 6 and 8, I think… It’s difficult to choose just one of the books in this series, they are each spectacular. ![]()
